GYMBOREE DENIM


Gymboree brought me in to create a premium kids denim collection that would make them a denim destination. They were relaunching the brand and upgrading everything. Historically they had just 5 denim styles that represented less than 1% of their business. I brought in one of my favorite pattern makers to get the shapes just right. We developed denim fabrics that had high stretch, bi-stretch, and Cordura enhanced strength. I did prototype development in factory and trained the laundry techs on visual and hand standards. Our washes delivered low-impact sustainable ratings from Jeanologia. At launch, denim accounted for 30% of sales and pieces from the collection regularly made the top 10 weekly best sellers.
