Indigo is not just a color to me, it has a heritage and a story. From the early California Gold Rush days and World War II to the traditional Noragi uniforms of Japan’s blue collar workers, th natural shade of blue is rooted in workwear and the ancient craft of textiles.
Following the success of the 1st Indigo Collection, we created another one in 2012. This time, working with over 20 brands on an expanded collection of apparel and accessories. We experimented more with finishing and indigo garment dying in this collection, including dip-dyes and fades. We used jerseys and loop terry, herringbones, and the darkest sturdiest indigo canvas. We shot the collection with our friend Andrew Paynter.
